Woolrich Alaskan Shirt

I’m going to have to be totally honest here – I’m not a huge fan of what the Woolrich company has become. It seems like they had a great, long-standing reputation for making sturdy outdoor clothing, and  they’ve gone and traded that for making a fair bit of mediocre “cottage wear,” manufactured abroad. Certainly, they’re not alone in having gone this direction, and maybe it’s what they had to do to survive, I don’t know. All I can say is that there are a few items in their catalog that still harken back to Woolrich’s former glory, and their “Alaskan Shirt” is the prime example. It’s pretty much the same heavy wool shirt that Woolrich has been making since the late 1800’s, and it’s still a great all-around layer for hunting, fishing, etc:
